As Team Rubicon volunteers respond to recent severe weather, our operations team is monitoring the need for support in Maui, Hawaii. A recon team is also on the ground in Elbert County, Colorado, investigating the possibilities for assisting residents affected by the Forest Ridge Fire.
Where We’re On the Ground
Ohio: In the wake of flooding that affected over 50 homes in the village of New Richmond in Clermont County, OH, volunteers are on the ground conducting a flood response to assist affected residents. After 108 hours in the field, the team has helped three families recover.

Texas: We’ve launched our long-term recovery pilot in the wake of Hurricane Harvey. Partnering with SBP, we’ve committed to rebuilding 100 homes in the Houston area by 2020. This commitment will serve as a test to see if Team Rubicon can establish a model to apply in other communities across the country.
Cohort 6 of the Clay Hunt Fellows Program are currently in Houston learning the tools, techniques, and skills needed for the Houston rebuild pilot project.
Missouri: Twenty-seven volunteers are conducting chainsaw operations, debris management, and expedient home repair in Malden, MO, in the wake of an EF2 tornado that damaged over 60 homes.
Michigan, Indiana: Torrential rainfall and snowmelt led to widespread flooding across areas of Michigan and Indiana. Volunteers will assist with flood relief efforts in Berrien County, MI, and Elkhart County, IN. Forty volunteers have stepped into the arena and have already delivered nearly $20,000 worth of volunteer labor.
