Veteran-led Team Rubicon Supporting Flood Response and Recovery Efforts in Fond du Lac County, Wis.

Fond du Lac, Wis. (March 21, 2019) – Team Rubicon, a veteran-led disaster response organization, has launched an operation in Fond du Lac County, Wis. to assist in on-going flood response and recovery efforts. Operations began on Thursday, March 21 and are anticipated to last 7 days.

Working in conjunction with state and local authorities, Team Rubicon volunteers are providing damage assessments, flooded home muck-outs, debris removal, and spontaneous volunteer management to affected communities.

“Fond du Lac saw a particularly awful flood event in 2008, and recovery was difficult. Today, we are working with the local government to leverage those lessons learned to improve the response, and help make the community whole again, as quickly as possible,” said Adam Lemons, Incident Commander and Wisconsin State Operations Coordinator for Team Rubicon. “Our members are ready to get dirty through the weekend putting their disaster response skills to use to help impacted communities in Fond du Lac County stabilize and recover.”

Residents affected by the Wisconsin floods may request assistance through Crisis Cleanup at (833) 556-2476. Services requested through Crisis Cleanup are not guaranteed to be completed by Team Rubicon, but volunteers with the organization are manning the hotline and routing requests to vetted, National Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (NVOAD) relief agencies in the affected area.
