With a $1 million match, PXG and The Bob & Renee Parsons Foundation help fuel veteran volunteers’ immediate relief work and long term recovery assistance for survivors of the LA fires.

Talk about a rescue club.

On January 21, 2025, global golf equipment and apparel brand PXG announced it has teamed up with Team Rubicon once again, this time matching donations, dollar-for-dollar up to $1 million, to the disaster relief nonprofit’s ongoing efforts to combat the recent devastating California wildfires.

Team Rubicon volunteers—or Greyshirts—have been on the ground since the fires broke out in early January, supporting local fire departments, emergency response teams, and wildfire survivors in LA. At the time of the gift, Greyshirts had already done everything from assisting the Riverside County Emergency Management Department with logistical support to distributing essential supplies to survivors to providing occupant support and assisting residents returning to their neighborhoods as evacuation orders were lifted. In Ventura County, a team of Greyshirts also performed just-in-time mitigation, including chainsaw operations, outside of the active fire zones to lessen the risk of future fires.

It is not the first time the veteran-led organizations have worked together. In 2017, CEO Bob Parsons, a U.S. Marine Corps Vietnam War Veteran, and PXG committed $1 million dollars toward Team Rubicon’s Hurricane Harvey Response—a donation that helped kick off the organization’s rebuild and long term recovery program. Similarly, PXG’s million-dollar donation for Hurricane Irma relief funded a majority of that response and enabled Team Rubicon to rebuild 40 homes in Florida. In 2020, PXG and The Bob & Renee Parsons Foundation issued a $2 million dollar challenge for Team Rubicon’s Hurricane Laura relief work. And, last year, PXG and The Bob & Renee Parsons Foundation stepped up with support for Team Rubicon’s Maui wildfire relief and recovery work.

“Seeing the destruction caused by the wildfires has left us heartbroken,“ said Bob Parsons, Founder of PXG and The Bob & Renee Parsons Foundation. “As a company deeply rooted in California’s golfing community, we feel a strong responsibility to support our neighbors during this challenging time. By matching donations to Team Rubicon, we hope to amplify the impact of this relief effort and encourage others to join us in bringing assistance to those affected by these unprecedented wildfires.”

Renee Parsons, CMO of PXG and co-founder of The Bob & Renee Parsons Foundation, added, “We have witnessed firsthand the incredible work that Team Rubicon does, not only during natural disasters like these wildfires but also as part of hurricane relief efforts and during the COVID-19 pandemic. Their dedication to rebuilding lives and communities is inspiring, and we are honored to support their efforts in this time of need.” The PXG support and matching fund will help Team Rubicon expand its operations in California, providing the necessary resources for on-the-ground support, recovery efforts, and rebuilding initiatives. The funds will be utilized for logistics, supplies, and volunteer operations to ensure that those affected receive the aid they most urgently need.
