The Training

Learn from experienced instructors: Taught through HBI’s BuildStrong Academy by instructors who know the industry. You’re learning from people who’ve built things that matter.

Current Training Programs
Resilient Carpentry and Roofing | New Orleans
Nine weeks of hands-on training in carpentry and roofing. Learn on real training structures using resilient installation techniques. Built with employers, focused on safety, and rooted in what carpenters actually need. You’ll graduate job-ready with direct connections to local employers hiring now.
- Location: New Orleans, LA
- Duration: 9 weeks, full-time

What to Expect
Participants can expect a hands-on, small group training experience focused on building real-world construction skills, professional habits, and job readiness. Training combines classroom instruction with practical, shop-based learning and emphasizes safety, industry standards, and teamwork. Students will also participate in career fairs, employer engagement activities, and individual employment support, including job search assistance and interview preparation. Participants should be prepared for a structured schedule, high expectations, accountability, and active participation, with support from instructors, staff, and peers throughout the program.

How To Apply
1. Apply through our training partner:
All applications are submitted through our partner, Home Builders Institute (HBI). Submit your application using the enrollment form below.
2. Initial phone screening:
After you apply, a representative from HBI or Team Rubicon will contact you to complete an initial phone screening.
3. In-person interview:
Qualified applicants will be invited to an in-person interview at the academy: 2506 Williams Blvd, Kenner, LA 70062
4. Selection, cohort placement & enrollment:
Selected candidates will be notified of acceptance and assigned to an upcoming training cohort. If needed, applicants may request consideration for a later cohort based on availability and program capacity.

Team Rubicon offers multiple Workforce Development cohorts each year to provide flexible entry points for participants.
