When severe flooding visited the city of Barre, VT, last week, Bonnie Plante was the unlucky resident whose home sustained the most damage in town. Three feet of water left mud, silt, and debris in the basement and first floor of the place she’d call home for most of her life. Bonnie had lost many of her belongings, but TR members were able to salvage roughly 4,000 square feet of property which contained several keepsakes. She referred to the team as her “guardian angels” and planted multiple hugs on those who deployed on Operation: Granite Thunder.
Bonnie also shared that her grandfather served in the U.S. Army during WWI. Region 1 volunteer Brian Harlow added, “This was the feel-good project of the weekend.” Thank you for sharing your story with us, Bonnie, and giving us another opportunity to serve.
