ASSEMBLING GREYSHIRTS FOR THE FOLLOWING SERVICES:
PREPARE, RESPOND, RECOVER
Every tornado, hurricane, cyclone, monsoon, and downpour brings with it a different style of response.
Over the past decade, we've learned how to best adapt our volunteer-led responses to the demands of storms, and below are just some of the many capabilities we utilize to serve those in need.
Our disaster response work is 100% fueled by donations and carried out by veteran-led teams of volunteers.
Our Rebuild capability delivers free home repair services to meet the unmet housing recovery needs of vulnerable households whose homes have been damaged during a disaster.
Our Route Clearance capability deploys a small group of Sawyers and Heavy Equipment Operators immediately following a disaster to remove physical barriers preventing individuals from accessing critical services.
World Health Organization (WHO) verified since 2018, our Emergency Medical Team swiftly deploys medically licensed and certified volunteers worldwide to assess, triage, treat, and refer patients in affected communities.
The WASH capability serves to test, treat, and distribute clean water to underserved populations unreached by other organizations or agencies internationally in the immediate aftermath of a disaster.
Our Residential Debris Removal capability intends to prepare homes for recovery by removing immediate hazards, making the property accessible and preventing further damage.
After water enters a home, it seeps into the walls, floors, furniture, and into the structure itself. To aid in the recovery process, "muckouts" involve a removal of all water damaged materials at no cost to disaster impacted homeowners.
Expedient Home Repair will prevent further damage to homes and improve home security by providing temporary repairs to damaged roofs and windows.
