Regions 6 and 9 are launching flood recovery operations in New Mexico to assist various charters of the Navajo Nation. Many of these charters are remote and do not receive adequate assistance after a natural disaster. These charters were hit by the same storms that flooded Colorado, but unfortunately, many of the earthen dams in the area broke and continued the flood the region.

The team is currently on the ground in Crownpoint, NM, and establishing a forward operating base. With lodging and food secured, the team will begin mucking out homes on the reservation tomorrow.
