Following a stint as a freelance reporter, she served as a public relations professional in the nonprofit sector working to enhance community service through storytelling and online engagement.

Earlier this week, severe weather and tornadoes tore through several communities in Northeast Nebraska, most notably the town of Pilger. In response, we launched Operation: Tough Town, and our assessment teams on the ground continue to work alongside local emergency management agencies to support all residents affected.

Our area of operation has shifted to provide relief in nearby communities in Dixon and Wayne Counties receiving less attention but equally impacted. The incident command post is being set up in the town of Wakefield where we’ll be managing the volunteer resource center and tackling damage assessments and debris management as additional TR members continue to roll through.
