TR Assembles Team; Prepares to Deliver Aid to Pakistan
Team Rubicon has been approached by Dr. Eduardo Dolhun, a TR veteran of Haiti and proprietor of DripDrop Oral Rehydration Solutions, asking for help in providing security and support for the delivery of aid to Pakistan. Dr. Dolhun is donating enough DripDrop to treat up to 8,000 victims of the flooding, who are currently facing an outbreak of cholera.  The WHO writes that the primary treatment of cholera is ORS, such as DripDrop, which can reduce mortality rates from as high as 40% to less than 1%. Your donation will help up to 8,000 people fight the growing cholera epidemic!

While Team Rubicon’s primary mission is rapid reaction to natural disasters, and its secondary mission is proactive relief to denied areas of ongoing need, TR sees this mission as a hybrid.  We chose against going to Pakistan in the early stages of the flooding because there were less than 2,000 deaths and the number of traumatic injuries was minimal. However, due to the unsecure situation on the ground, and the difficulty to reach many of the victims, Team Rubicon sees a need to deliver DripDrop, which will mitigate the number of deaths moving forward as the long-term relief effort gets underway.  Because of the hybrid reactive/proactive nature of this mission, Team Rubicon is working to develop extensive networks on the ground with both the Pakistani government and local nonprofits; because of this, a tentative departure has been set for the end of August, beginning of September.

Donate and help Team Rubicon deliver DripDrop!
Team Rubicon has assembled an excellent team which has extensive military experience; in addition to Dr. Dolhun, TR will be operating with a former Marine infantry and intelligence sergeant, former Army Ranger, and a former Navy SEAL. These men represent the best America has to offer, men willing to serve an area of great need and utilize the skills and mental toughness the learned in the military to GET THE JOB DONE. The team will be capable of travelling to the most remote locations within Pakistan’s devastated provinces, delivering a product that will SAVE LIVES.
