Objective

On June 16, severe thunderstorms and tornadoes hit Northeast Nebraska. In response, we”re launching Operation: Tough Town to provide expedient home repair, debris removal, and assist local officials with relief operations.

June 22, 2014 On Saturday, our team on the ground managed the efforts of more than 140 spontaneous volunteers, including a squadron of Civil Air Patrol cadets, through the Wakefield Volunteer Resource Center (VRC) and coordinated volunteer requests of 160 volunteers at the VRC in the town of Wisner. In response, we launched Operation: Tough Town, and our assessment teams on the ground continue to work alongside local emergency management agencies to support all residents affected. In response to the severe thunderstorms and tornadoes that destroyed roughly 75 percent of Pilgrim, NE, we've launched Operation: Tough Town, honoring Pilger's motto, "The little town too tough to die."
