Invest in Impact this Holiday Season

Following a stint as a freelance reporter, she served as a public relations professional in the nonprofit sector working to enhance community service through storytelling and online engagement.

Nov. 29 is Giving Tuesday, a day designed to spur charitable giving at a global scale. ‘Tis the season of giving and all eyes are on nonprofits worth supporting, so through the rest of the year, we’re dedicated to showing you the impact we made in 2016.

Let’s start with telling the story of Marine veteran and Clay Hunt Fellow JJ Selvig, who was brave enough to share his journey defined by loss, determination, and service.

The impact on our members, while often tough to quantify, is undoubtable. Our 2016 Member Impact survey provides some insight into what service means to our team:

  • Of those who volunteer with TR, 92% report feeling their service is meaningful.
  • 78% of those who deployed with TR reported feeling they contribute to a greater purpose.
  • 96% of volunteers would help a fellow TR member in need.

Now let’s talk about the communities we’ve served and the training that prepared us to help others on their worst day. In 2016, Team Rubicon:

2016-impact-infographic-02

  • Responded to 45 disasters and spent more than 85,000 hours deployed on disaster response operations.
  • Served over 2,500 homeowners affected by disasters.
  • Trained more than 8,000 veterans and responders who completed 35,000 hours of training to better serve those impacted by disasters.

Every dollar you give to Team Rubicon generates at least $7 worth of value in communities affected by disasters. Give the gift of impact this holiday season by investing in effective disaster response. If the weather outside gets frightful, we’ll be there.
