For Love of Country

Bobbi Snethen

Bobbi hails from Madison, WI, and graduated from the University of Wisconsin where she studied journalism and strategic communication. Following a stint as a freelance reporter, she served as a public relations professional in the nonprofit sector working to enhance community service through storytelling and online engagement.

We’re fired up this morning. Why? Because For Love of Country, a new book co-authored by Starbucks Chairman, President, and CEO Howard Schultz and award-winning Washington Post Senior Correspondent Rajiv Chandrasekaran, is highlighting our mission and featuring members of our team.

The book is a celebration of the courage, dedication, and sacrifice of post-9/11 American veterans on the battlefield and their equally valuable contributions on the home front, and we’ve been named a beneficiary of donated author proceeds from the book, which is available in stores and online today.

Author proceeds from For Love of Country will be donated to a select group of organizations empowering veterans and their families. These organizations ensure that veterans transition into civilian life with access to employment, education, health and wellness, and reintegration services.

Speaking of books…. So I was over at one of my favorite science fiction author blogs and discovered she was running a little share the wealth fundraiser. T K Anthony has dropped the price of her novella to$0.99 and will be sharing the proceeds with TR and Gary Sinise’s Foundation. If you are interested, check it out at http://scotianrealm.com/?p=742
