Politics Aside

Today, Team Rubicon welcomed a bi-partisan congressional delegation to our area of operations just outside Houston. Texas Senators John Cornyn (R-TX) and Ted Cruz (R-TX) were joined by House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) and ten other members of the U.S. House of Representatives. The group joined volunteers at two sites in the Friendswood Division of Operation Hard Hustle.

Congressmen donned proper PPE while working in a neighborhood that was hit hard by Hurricane Harvey, acknowledging the tiresome, dirty work that is flood relief.

Team Rubicon welcomes the support of government leaders on both sides of the aisle, and believes there’s value in engaging them as we execute our mission in order to enable them to better understand our impact in communities we all serve. In response to Hurricane Harvey and previous missions, Team Rubicon has garnered the support of four United States Presidents – Presidents Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, Barack Obama, and Donald Trump.

Impartiality is one of Team Rubicon’s service principles, and we make no restrictions based on ethnic origin, nationality, political allegiance, military background, religion, gender, or sexuality. We put politics aside and deploy our nation’s best to tackle Mother Nature’s worst, and anyone who wishes to engage or support our efforts is welcome to help.
