Volunteers Share Experiences from Operation Dry Tears and a Burning Car Rescue

Patrick O'Neill

Coming from Tinley Park, IL—South Chicago but the suburbs—and enlisted in the Marine Corps at 17. Served as a Reconnaissance team member of 2D Recon BN, A CO on two deployments to Afghanistan. He's a creative student at the University of Southern California studying English/ Creative Writing and Advertising. Currently an intern with the awesome Team Rubicon Comms Team. Chances of bumping into Pat at an LA Brewery are high.

Casey Magoon and Matt Watson, two dedicated Team Rubicon members, were teamed up together on Operation Dry Tears after flood waters hit South Holland, Illinois. One day while en route to a home, they encountered thick smoke rising from the engine and a woman named Margaret still inside a burning car parked at a busy intersection. It was in their DNA to respond.

Matt and Casey agreed to tell their own story. Watch it here.
