  1. Diane says:

Sadly, I think that is probably because of the Taliban. And the Pakistan government’s needing to be pushed to fight them. If the world doesn’t help, then they win.

  2. Apparently it took pressure on Pakistan from the US for Pakistan to except aid from India. So there is a lot of politics involved according to this:
    http://www.ndtv.com/article/india/accept-indian-aid-no-role-for-politics-in-disaster-us-to-pak-45537
Some religion involved also, “The government and local clerics refused to shelter around 500 flood-affected families belonging to the Ahmadiya community in South Punjab’s relief camps.”:

And the Taliban is pressuring the Pakistani government also:

So all that, I think, contributes to the problem of donation collection. Which is why we’ve donated, what little we can, to TR and send our friends who want to donate to the relief effort in Pakistan to this site.
Also apparently the Taliban are internet savvy, they may have used Facebook to track those doctors that were murdered in Afghanistan:

Maybe you guys going over to Pakistan should save the pictures and location identifying posts until you are safely back home. But you probably already thought of that. You are in our prayers.
