From the Associated Press:

GENEVA — As Washington demands more transparency from Pakistan on how it’s spending its flood aid money, a U.N. agency has launched an unusual appeal for relief funds to be sent directly to a Pakistani or Swiss bank account — with none of the usual monitoring safeguards.

  1. While we as donors greatly appreciate your transparency, safety has to come first during a mission. I think, regarding this mission we would all understand if we do not get the usual amount of information while the mission is taking place. Your after action reports are always very informative.

This was on the news this morning “Taliban may be threatening to attack western aid workers.”:

The work you all do is incredible and we are grateful to be able to contribute to that work. We are grateful to have an organization that we can feel safe in suggesting to our friends and family. Not only do we know where our money is going we get to know the people working in the field with that money through this blog. We will keep you in our prayers and keep spreading the word about this terrific organization. Stay safe guys.

I would have to agree safety is paramount in going to this area. There are many that would jump at the opportunity to attack Americans no matter what aid they bring. Remember the poor team of 10 aid workers murdered in Afghanistan by the “righteous” and “all-knowing” Taliban/criminal element of the country.

Yes, please. No more info until the mission is over and all are back – safe.
