Support Clay Hunt’s Battle Buddies as They Ride in His Honor

Ride 2 Recovery (Clay Hunt center)

Brothers Tim and Paul Fortney proudly served their country as U.S. Marine Infantrymen in Iraq and Afghanistan. Over the Memorial Day Week, Paul and Tim will be participating in their first Ride 2 Recovery Challenge in Washington, D.C. During the week, they will bicycle over 450 miles from Washington, D.C. to Virginia Beach, VA. They will be riding with Team Clay Hunt which consists of friends and family of Clay Hunt. Clay was a close friend and member of Tim’s Scout-Sniper Team. Clay recently lost his battle with post traumatic stress disorder and survivor’s guilt. Ride 2 Recovery was a cause close to Clay’s heart. Please take a moment and read this story to learn more about Clay’s battle and life- long desire to serve.

R2R: what is it?

The Ride 2 Recovery is produced by the Fitness Challenge Foundation, in partnership with the Military and VA Volunteer Service Office, to benefit the Mental and Physical Rehabilitation Programs for our country’s wounded veterans that feature cycling as the core activity.

Held in partnership with the Fitness Challenge Foundation, the R2R raises money to support Spinning Recovery Labs and outdoor cycling programs at Military and VA locations around the U.S. to help injured veterans overcome the obstacles they face.

Cycling is an important part of the recovery and rehabilitation program for two reasons:

1. Cycling is an activity that almost all patients with mental and physical disabilities can participate.

2. Participation in the Ride 2 Recovery Program helps speed up the recovery and rehabilitation process.
