Team Rubicon and Triple Aught Design head into the mountains for high angle ropes training in Yosemite

This past week Team Rubicon and the team from Triple Aught Design headed into Yosemite to do some climbing and rope training. Lead by Zachary Smith and Kirtus Creiglow of Team Rubicon; and Glenn Pinson of Peak Rescue, the group spent five days working on their skills clinging to the side of Tuolumne Meadows notoriously tough granite rock. The trip served as a great training session, testing their lead-climbing and road cycling at altitude endurance.

The Triple Aught Design crew graciously provided members of TR with clothing and equipment to test to their field strength limits. From Kurtis on the bag pipes, incredible food generously prepared by the Smith family to 10 mile uphill bike races before sunrise it was a trip to remember. Marc Fiorito from Gamma Nine, a Team Rubicon photographer and journalist, honed his austere environment photo skills in preparation for an upcoming deployment. He got some incredible shots while swinging from his harness on multi-pitch climbs.

TR East Coast community service project

In conjunction with Operation Chill-out, a local homeless veteran outreach program in the New York City area, the Team Rubicon East Coast leadership conducted operations during the recent heat wave gripping the region. The team provided drinking water and other relief to local homeless veterans during the severe weather and formed a partnership for future outreach projects.

Cooperation with organizations like Operation Chill-out allow TR to assist more veterans through a broader spectrum of services.
